Dear Roo
I’m writing this whilst I watch you sleep on the other sofa wrapped up in your Tinkerbell duvet as you were so very cold.
The last few days have been busy ones with your usual after school sports along with the Dodgeball competition, whilst you complained of a bit of a sore throat you haven’t let it slow you down – well not until today.
Last night you came into our room at 2.33am in floods of tears complaining of a headache, lots of cuddles, a drink and Calpol helped you get you settled back to sleep. Daddy had to wake you up this morning when usually you are up before the birds, I should have guessed then that you weren’t feeling yourself.
You didn’t want any breakfast and only had a few sips of drink before you went to get dressed for school. Just before we headed out the door to start the school run you looked so very pale and then was sick – you’re rarely sick. A quick temperature check, 38.9C I knew that you couldn’t go to school so you reluctantly changed out of your uniform back into your PJs and miss a day off school and your Easter lunch.
Just before lunch we headed to the GP practice to see one of our family doctors, who was reluctant to give you antibiotics for your swollen, red tonsils so decided to leave it until Friday to see how you were then. After buying more Calpol (and a new dress for the summer) from Asda we have come home where you have retired to the sofa.
It’s difficult for me to see you poorly, you’re supposed to be the healthy one!
I hope you feel better soon
Love you Mummy xox
