Booking a self-catering break at Whitemead Forest Park you can enjoy one of the fantastic range of pet-friendly accommodation options available, ensuring that even our furry family members are included in the getaway. Whether you are looking to set up camp with a tent, bring along your motorhome, glamping in one of the megapod timber lodges or spread out in one of the spacious apartments or woodland lodges.

  • Camping & Touring – Pitch up at Whitemead with your tent, caravan pitches, campervan or motorhome and make the most of the picturesque surroundings. Be sure to check out the minimum-stay rules for touring pitches during weekends and school holidays
  • Glamping Pods
    • B&B pods are the perfect glamping experience but with all the comforts of a hotel room, included within the price is breakfast in the on-site restaurant.
    • Mega Pods offer a great alternative to a tent whilst retaining all the ambience of a ‘camping holiday’. With a double bed and a corner sofa bed, the Mega Pod can sleep up to 4 people. 
    • Mega Pod X offers a great alternative to a tent whilst retaining all the ambience of a ‘camping holiday’ the Mega Pod X has an outdoor picnic area and parking for one car.
    • Mega Pod XL offers a great alternative to a tent whilst retaining all the ambience of a ‘camping holiday’ the Mega Pod XL has an outdoor picnic area and parking for one car.
  • Woodland Lodges – Woodland Lodges contain an open-plan living area, a master bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a twin room and a sofa bed in the lounge area, which can be used to accommodate an additional two people. 
  • Log Cabins – These rustic log cabins sleep up to 6 people these cabins have a double room, bunk room & twin room with their own veranda and outside furniture.
  • Apartments – Spacious modern apartment with open plan kitchen and living area, a master bedroom with en-suite shower room, a twin room and a sofa bed in the lounge, which can be used to accommodate an additional two people.

Site Amenities

  • Guest Services – For any questions, queries or booking of onsite activities head over to guest services located in the main building. One of the pleasant staff members will be able to assist you and get everything sorted for you.
  • Booking Office – If you enjoyed your relaxing break and can’t wait to ensure that you have another stay on your calendar, head over to the onsite booking office to check out the latest offers on your next stay. 
  • Mobile Signal and Free Wifi – Given that Whitemead Forest Park is located in the heart of the magical Forest of Dean you can probably guess that mobile signal is somewhat patchy. To counteract this Whitemead has included free access to Wifi across the majority of the holiday park. With Wifi boosters dotted around the site so that almost everyone can continue their digital activities without much interruption – unless of course, you want to switch off during your stay for the ultimate escape.
  • Camping & Touring Facilities– If you are staying on-site in one of the camping or touring pitches be sure to make use of the good facilitiesboth dedicated to the pitch areas and the wider BBQ & picnic areas to make your stay comfortable.

Food & Drink

  • Onsite Store & Gift Shop – Located behind guest services you will find the onsite shop which has a selection of everyday products, local produce and holiday essentials available to purchase. The gift shop contains several different toys, activities and gifts that children can pick up from pocket money prices to large price tag items.
  • Foresters Bar & Restaurant – The beautiful Foresters Bar & Restaurant offers a family-friendly dining area to enjoy a drink, a light bite or a full meal. A warm and welcoming atmosphere incorporates various seating options from relaxed areas to catch up and chat, high-top tables to watch sports on the large TVs or booths and tables for enjoying a meal together. The menu offers a range of dishes which once you have tasted one dish will draw you in to visit again and again throughout your stay.
    • Breakfast is served: 8:00am – 11:30am
    • Lunch menu is served: 12:00pm – 5:00pm
    • Daily Menu: 12:00pm – 9:30pm
  • The Terrace – Overlook the beautiful surroundings of the relaxed woodland resort as you enjoy a drink, grab a light bite or a sweet treat. A collection of seating options is available for the whole family whether you are watching young children in the play park, letting your competitive spirit come out as you play with the garden games on the patio or simply putting your feet up for five minutes.
  • BBQ & Picnic Table Area – Make the most of the picturesque surroundings and enjoy a BBQ with family and friends. The area includes picnic tables so that everyone has a place to sit and enjoy the

Family Entertainments and Activities Available

Whitemead Forest Park offers a range of great activities and entertainment, some of which are included as part of your stay on the holiday, whilst there is a selection of activities that can be booked for children and adults to enjoy. The picturesque surroundings are begging to be explored alongside the activities programme and entertainment calendar. Make sure to pack your wellies or sturdy footwear to make the most of the relaxed woodland resort.

Free Activities

  • Swimming Pool – The free indoor pool is accessed via the main building, you will need to show your leisure pass to guest services for them to open the access gate. The changing rooms have a selection of single and family changing areas available with lockers available for belongings (you’ll need a £1 coin for these but it is refundable after use). It is a nice pool perfect for families with two areas, a 0.9m area for younger children whilst the rest of the pool is 1.2m. There are adult-only sessions and special activities available so do check out the listing at guest services.
  • Sauna and Steam Room – Sauna and steam room use is for ages 16 and over only.
  • Hot Tub – Two hot tubs are available at the side of the indoor heated pool, available to anyone aged 8+.  
  • Play Areas – There are three parks available onsite, two wooden play parks for young children and infants and a junior park for older children. As well as a multi-sports arena that can be utilised for several different activities. Use of the park is free for anyone staying onsite and includes seating areas for grown-ups who are supervising children.
  • Nature Trail – Get up close and personal with the local wildlife. The nature trail will take you on a magical journey around the site and allow you to answer some wildlife questions.

  • The Venue – Evening entertainment is found in The Venue and offers a mixture of family-friendly entertainment and shows as well as music and entertainment that the grown-ups will enjoy too. It has a nice atmosphere and a good selection of tables and chairs with a large bar area.
  • Tributes & Theme Nights – Fancy adding a little something extra to your short break, so why not take a look at the tribute and theme nights that are available across the year. These are at an additional cost and are for over 18s only, however, most do include a two-course meal within the ticket price – so work out at excellent value for money.

  • Dean Forest Railway – The Dean Forest Railway is a heritage railway with diesel locomotives and steam trains running between Lydney and Parkend in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
