The East Anglian Game & Country Fair will take place on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th April 2019 at the prestigious Euston Estate, near Thetford, by kind permission of The Duke and Duchess of Grafton.
Welcoming world-class events and attractions to the show each year. Headlining the event this year are The Silver Stars Army Parachute Display Team, don’t miss this spectacular sight at the drop zone in the Main Arena with the beautiful backdrop of Euston Hall.
East Anglian Game & Country Fair
Returning by popular demand are equestrian sensations The UK Horseboarding Team UK, The British Scurry & Trials Driving Championships, Harvey’s Heavy Horses and The Suffolk Hunt. Other main arena events include Ye Olde Redtail Falconry Display, who bring the ancient art of Falconry to the modern age, with a comprehensive and thrilling display, that is guaranteed to thrill audiences of all ages. Watch it, be amazed, and join in.
World and European Casting Champion, Hywel Morgan will be entertaining crowds with a relaxed and humorous demo about the fascinating world of fly fishing. Alongside the Fishing4Schools team, Hywel will also offer ‘have a go’ fly tying and casting tuition and demos on the Black Bourne River.
Don’t miss the 2019 Forestry Arena. The Thomas Carving Timber show will Showcase how lumberjacks ply their trade and the fun they have doing it – a new unique show. Watch Log Rolling in a tank of water with the aim to stay dry and upright on the log, Speed Carving, 15ft Gas Cannon, Axe Throwing and abseiling. See competitors climb the highest poles ever seen at the East Anglian Game & Country Fair. There will also be interactive workshop sessions for children in between performances. Also new to the 2019 Forestry Arena are Europe’s leading BMX stunt team Mobile Bike Events. With a selection of the world’s best riders performing a jaw-dropping stunt bonanza and backflips guaranteed!
Country activities
Join in and ‘have a go’ at a range of country activities from clay shooting with John Bidwell’s High Lodge instructors or enter the 40-bird re-entry shooting competition for men, women and juniors. Fly fishing and Coarse fishing on the Black Bourne River, ferret racing and archery to paintballing and crossbows. Try the air rifle range, hold a bird of prey, enter your dog into the pet dog show, join in with your dog at the K9 Aqua Sports pool or gun dog scurry competitions and take a ride in a Landrover on the exciting off road 4×4 course. Children of all ages will be able to meet several animals, including alpacas and enjoy donkey rides. This year we are pleased to welcome back ‘Little Rovers’. Under supervision, adventurous youngsters can drive scaled Land Rovers around a mini ‘off-road’ course.
You can also learn much more about the countryside by visiting some of the countryside organisation stands including BASC, British Deer Society, Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust, National Organisation of Beaters, National Gamekeepers Organisation and many more.
Shopping
Over 350 shopping stands with a wide variety of products from fashion and footwear to gun makers & fishing products. Children’s activities, food hall, craft and gift marquees and much more.
Feast Norfolk and Andy Newman will be hosting our 2019 Game Fair Country Kitchen with a great line-up of cookery workshops and demonstrations taking place over the weekend. Award winning chef’s and suppliers from across Norfolk and Suffolk will be showcasing their signature dishes using seasonal, local produce. Have breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of the new street food pop-ups and stay on to enjoy the evening bar and live music.
