On our last visit to Drayton Manor during Whitsun Week, we noticed something special being built over by Entrance 2. With tall posts and walkways between them, we were excited to see whether our prediction of an adventure course was right or not.
At the beginning of the month, we received a special email telling us all about VertiGO, the new high ropes adventure course. As Drayton Manor Park Ambassadors we were invited to try out VertiGO and VertiGO Tots so see whether Roo and Tigger were brave enough to #FaceYourVertiGO…
Climb High & Face Your VertiGO
Located by Entrance 2 VertiGO is a high ropes attraction where adrenaline junkies can take their summer high to the next level, and is suitable for both adults and children, meaning the whole family can get involved.
VertiGO
VertiGO – Participants must be 1.2m tall or over to participate without adult supervision.
Participant between the height of 1.0m and 1.2m must be accompanied by a responsible paying adult and stay within arm’s length at all times.
Roo took on the challenge of VertiGO which is spread across two levels which allow those who are less confident to try out the course and progress upwards once they find their feet. Roo happily climbed across the varies rope bridges and obstacles, navigating her way up to the higher level after gaining confidence on the lower level. She did look at the zip wires, however, decided that they weren’t for her and continued to
VertiGO Tots
VertiGO Tots – Participants must be aged 2 or over and no taller than 1.2m (4ft) and must have a responsible adult with them. Children receive a 20-minute session on the VertiGO Tots framework.
When I booked for us to attend VertiGO I booked Tigger on to the VertiGO Tots frame with the full understanding that once we got there he would turn round and say no thank you. However, 2016 is Tigger’s year and he is all about trying new things and the VertiGO Tots was just one of those things on his list.
He watched the video alongside Roo and understood that should he hear the whistle that he would need to stop and listen. He walked outside to be fitted with a harness, which he happily chatted to the gentleman whilst he tightened the straps and bravely took the walk around the VertiGO Tots area.
The VertiGo Tots course is all on one level, with a range of different bridges and rope steps to navigate over. There is lift up sections within the bridges so that parents are able to stay next to nervous little ones and offer a guiding hand where necessary. Tigger was a little unsure of some areas of the course, however, comfortable on other sections.

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
The weather when we arrived at 10.00am was horrendous, I braved getting out of the car thinking we could make a dash into the park to take cover until it eased. Nope, I was soaked (so wet that so were my knickers TMI). In the end, we opted to wait it out in the car for 30/40 minutes when the weather decided to play ball and the clouds parted.
Both Roo and Tigger loved their time on the new VertiGO attraction, with each of them overcoming different challenges. I was so proud of each of them for embracing the different courses, Tigger for just agreeing to go on it and walking around the course. To Roo who was happy to go up on the main VertiGO course on her own, although she is disappointed in herself for not doing the zip wires it gives her something to aim for next time we go.
Are you brave enough to #FaceYourVertiGO?
