Sometimes life resembles a scene or two from the film Groundhog Day. The relentless getting up earlier than we would like, making breakfast, making packed lunch boxes and ensuring everyone is organised for the day.
There is however some relief from these relentless mornings, those small victories that make my morning…
Sleeping until the alarm clock sounds – both Roo and Tigger have always been early birds, if they manage to sleep past 7am I think Christmas has come early.
Toast / Cereal / Fruit breakfast debate – every morning I ask Roo and Tigger what they want for breakfast, the mornings that actually give me a decision within a minute is a definite #morningwin.
Clean school uniform – Roo bless her heart is clean, mess free little girl, the same cannot be said for Tigger… he somehow manages to get dirty in a white room so if we can make it out the door before he has messed up his school uniform it is a bonus.
School reading book read the night before – please tell me I am not the only one who has listened to their child read in the car on the way to school and frantically signing their reading record before they head in the school gates.
Pleasing the school run gods – squeezing in two different school runs and getting to work within 30 minutes can be a little tight, however there are those mornings when I’m in favour the school run gods and I arrive at work a little early. I, of course sit in my car for those blissful few minutes munching my hazelnut belVita breakfast biscuits and have one last check on social media.
What small victories make your morning?
