It’s no big secret that we love all things Thomas & Friends in our house. Even before we had Tigger there were still train tracks, books, and trips to Thomas Land. Stemming from our own childhood Mr. Boo and I have passed on the love of Thomas, Percy, and their really useful engine friends onto each of our children. Whilst Piglet might be a little young to understand it all yet she has already enjoyed a trip to Thomas Land and loves it when we sing the theme tune to the TV episodes shown on Milkshake! each morning before school.
Each year we wait with anticipation to see what new film and DVDs will be released so that we can either visit our local cinema to enjoy the film as it should be on the big screen or save up pocket-money in order to purchase the new DVD to enjoy time and time again at home.
Thomas & Friends: The Great Race
This year sees the release of Thomas & Friends: The Great Race a new feature-length adventure, including a line-up of 13 magnificent new international engines, it came steaming into cinemas nationwide this weekend.
This morning I bravely took all three children to the cinema on my own to watch the new film (whilst Mr. Boo stayed home to build flat-pack furniture – I think I got the easier job). Luckily the film time coincided with Piglet’s feed so I managed to change her before we got inside and then she happily sat on my lap and drank her bottle whilst we enjoyed the film.
Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
Tigger obviously loves Thomas & Friends so for him this was a big deal, he was excited to see the new engines and what adventures that they were going to have. One of the things that I love about Thomas & Friends films and the episodes too is that each one has a moral about teamwork, friendship and how to be the best you can. Young and all we can all learn a little something from Thomas & Friends.
I don’t want to give too much away about the film but let’s just say it’s the Sports Day of the train world and sometimes we don’t get picked for the races we want.
Disclosure: We received a family ticket FOC for the purpose of review
