I often joke when people ask me if I’m a local, ‘oh no‘ I answer ‘I’m a tourist who stayed!‘. I’m not sure whether that makes me better or worse than a local, after all I opted to live here. The truth is that my family and I would visit Great Yarmouth for our annual holiday. We would stay on at one of the local holiday parks and enjoy the beach, amusements and tourist attractions. We eventually moved here when I was 14 and I’ve been here every since.

Mr Boo on the other hand is a local lad, so whilst I would visit Great Yarmouth on holiday, he would be off enjoying camping holidays to the New Forest with his family. I’m not sure if I trust the weather enough in the UK to going camping with Roo and Tigger. I would however like to venture to warmer climes, some friends suggested we looked at Thomson Al Fresco family camping holidays in Spain.
At first I laughed and said ‘camping in Spain? we’ll roast to death‘. My friend assured me that this wouldn’t be the case and boy was she right. I took a little look at the accommodation and whilst it is a caravan, it is a luxury caravan with all mod cons… including air conditioning!
Maybe for our next holiday we need to think outside the box and consider taking the children camping abroad.
