The autumnal weather has arrived and looks set to stay. No longer can I kid myself that my summer wardrobe is acceptable on the school run. It is time to pack away my Birkenstocks and t-shirts. Replacing them with warm knits, ankle boots and possibly even a scarf or two.
Stepping into autumn with an updated wardrobe allows me to worry about the best places to find pine cones and golden leaves for crafts with the children. Rather than whether or not I’m shivering from the cold and wanting to rush back indoors.
Stepping into Autumn // Wardrobe Makeover
Jumpers
Nothing quite says autumn wardrobe than knitwear. Finding the balance between something that is going to keep you warm and still looks stylish. There are not many people who are fans of those chunky itchy knits we remember from our childhoods. ESPRIT has a fantastic collection of knitwear available whether you are looking for an everyday style or something a little more dressy. With a range of different designs and colours you are able to keep your wardrobe looking cheery. Even though the weather outside isn’t.
Boots
Autumnal staple footwear has to be a great pair of boots. With so many different styles available you might find yourself with a couple of pairs of boots to get you through the season. Wedged ankle boots are a staple starting point, offering the stability required on wet, muddy trails. Whilst knee-high boots will look fantastic with skinny jeans. As well as offer that additional warmth when out and about.
Scarves
Gone are those school days of your mum nagging at you to put your scarf on as you might catch a chill. Scarves have evolved and are much more a fashion accessory as well as providing the warmth required as the temperatures start to dip. The lighter scarves you have been wearing through the summer, are replaced by cozier ones. Whether you opt for a snood, pashmina, or a traditional chunky knit scarf, be sure it is soft, snuggly and something that coordinates with your autumn coat.
