Roo and Tigger always take a packed lunch with them to school each. When Roo first started school we weren’t able to afford the £2.10 each day for a school dinner, plus there were many of the meals on the menu that she wouldn’t like. So we made the decision to prepare a packed lunch for her and subsequently Tigger each day.
Their lunch bags etc aren’t just used for school, we often head our for a picnic or days out and take food along with us. This helps us keep costs down, ensure that we have things that the children like (I’m thinking of Tigger when I say this) and we can monitor how much (or little) they have eaten throughout the day – sometimes you can be so busy having fun that eating our lunch just isn’t that important (or so the kids think).
Smash Kids Back to School Lunch Packs
So with another school year approaching, we always treat the children to new lunch bags and this year instead of having sandwich bags etc. we have some extra special lunch boxes to ‘Smash the Trash’ and create rubbish free lunches where possible.
Smash Kids 3D Dinosaur Lunch Bag
Let me start with Tigger, I often feel as though boys are overlooked a little when it comes to lunch bag selection. Smash, however, have created a fun range of lunch bags to stir up their imaginations. Take the Smash 3D Dinosaur Lunch Bag, with its funky design and 3D glasses included to bring it to life. With a carry handle on top and space to write their name inside it is perfect for carrying to school each day. Available in black or green, it comes complete with a water bottle that stores within a side pocket leaving more room inside for munchies.
Smash Kids Glitter Lunch Bag
Now Roo is a typical girlie girl and whilst Smash have some wonderful designs of flowers, girls etc it was the new Smash Glitter Lunch Bag that caught her eye. I can’t say I blame her as I’ve taken quite a shine to the purple one myself. The rectangle lunch bag has a woven carry strap as well space to include their name inside. Available in a choice of three colours Pink, Light Pink and Purple it is sure to make lunch times sparkle.
Smash Kids Drinks Bottle 500ml
Hydration is a key factor in everyday life and being at school all day with all the activities etc that they do it is even more important that they have easy access to a drink. The large 500ml Smash drinks bottles offer a good size drink ready for when it is needed and a simple twist top makes it easy for younger ones to open too. Available in a choice of colours Blue, Pink, Purple, and Yellow.
Smash Nude Food Movers – Sandwich and Snack Box
One of the ways we are looking to ‘Smash the Trash’ this year is to move away from disposable sandwich bags and foil that cause irreparable damage to our environment. The Smash Nude Food Movers Sandwich and Snack Boxes offer the space, freshness and ease of use when it comes to storing items within lunch bags. Tigger isn’t keen on foods touching so having things in different boxes will work well for him as well as ensuring that his hot cross buns or sausage rolls arrive without being squished.
Smash Nude Food Movers – Mini Lunchbox
Whilst Tigger still receives a piece of fruit at snack time provided by the school, Roo, unfortunately, doesn’t so we always pack a little something extra within her lunch bag. This way she can grab something at snack time depending on what she fancies at the time. The Smash Nude Food Movers Mini Lunchbox is perfect to slip into her lunch bag minimising on rubbish and providing her with different sections for her lunch. The removable tray within the main segment is designed so you can add an ice pack in there to keep things cool, however, we have been placing a slice of flapjack underneath with her sandwich sitting on top of the tray, then adding fruit to the little pots.
Smash Nude Food Movers – Snack Tubes Triple
As we travel around a lot and with Piglet starting to wean I am that mum that always has a snack or two hidden in her bag. With the Smash Nude Food Movers Snack Tubes Triple, I can finally wave goodbye to rouge raisins rolling around the bottom of my bag. The triple tube system means that it can be used in any order and screws into place with a click locking it into place. They are the perfect size to carry raisins, biscuits, fruit segments etc. in whilst keeping them fresh and you aren’t then stuck carrying empty wrappers etc in your bag afterward.
Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
One of the first things that attracted me to Smash products is the amazing selection. Whether your child is into dinosaurs, animals, pretty flowers or simply wants something in a block colour they will be able to find something. The lunch bags are fun and funky and whilst they might be designed with children in mind, I could see a fair few adults happily using these too.
The selection that Roo and Tigger have been sent over ready for back to school has amazed me. The lunch bags are a great quality which has been tested to international standards as well as being BPA Free and Phthalate Free. Attention to detail is also apparent with the addition of name labels, water bottle storage to being the correct size to fit sandwich and snack boxes inside.
