With Halloween and more importantly my Halloween party just around the corner I have started to think about what food we are going to serve. Along side the usual snacks of crisps and nibbles I thought it would be great to have a BBQ. Now a BBQ in October may not seem a wise idea however with the help of my trusty Tefal Optigrill and a selection of quality meat from Country Valley Online Butchers I think my guests will be happy.
I’ve made the controversial decision not to make sandwiches as not long are they time consuming to make but almost half (if not more) are always leftover and I’m left wondering why I bothered to stand there and butter all that bread. So I’m opting to make sausage rolls, maybe some vol au vents and a selection of cheese straws/breadsticks.
With a number of adults attending to join in the Halloween fun and games I wanted to try and give them a food feeding so I’m going to order a BBQ meat box (or two).
Small BBQ Meat Box Hamper |
The BBQ meat box contains:
4 x Grand Reserve Beef Steak Burgers
4 x Grand Reserve Lamb Burgers
1 x 400g pack of Thin Pork Sausage
1 x 400g pack of Riverside Thick Pork Sausage
So I’m thinking if I order maybe three of these then there should be enough burgers for the the adults and then the children can have the sausages too. I’m not sure if I’ll have time to make my own relishes or whether I will need to cheat and buy some (if you have a great relish recipe, please let me know).
Alongside the burgers and sausages I thought out getting some chicken breasts and making chicken skewers with peppers and maybe a lovely marinade to give the chicken a little something extra.
What foods would you like to see at a Halloween BBQ?
