Where Do You Start When Renovating An Old Property?

December 7, 2017 No Comments

With house prices at an all-time high, getting on the property ladder for the first time is a real struggle. Buying a brand new house is all good, but it’s just not financially viable for most first time buyers. You’ve got two options in this situation, you can save for years until you can finally afford that brand new home, or you could buy an older house that needs work and do it up yourself. It’ll be far more affordable to buy an older home but it’s going to take a lot of care and attention to bring it up to scratch. The other benefit is that older homes often have a lot more character than new builds which tend to be built to a very standard design and look very similar to one another. If you think that buying and renovating an older property might be the best option for you, here are some great tips to get you started on the renovation.

Motherhood teaching me to multitask

December 5, 2017 No Comments

In my life before children, I would kid myself into thinking that I was able to multitask with the best of them.  Working in an administration environment it was common practice to be taking a phone call, typing something up on the computer, whilst calling another patient through to clinic etc.  Heading into motherhood I knew that there would new skills that I would have to learn but hey I had multitasking down to a fine art.

Or so I thought.

How best to care for a sore throat

December 5, 2017 No Comments

With the seasons changing and the weather starting to look decidedly cold, it is that time of year when most of us will be coming down with an ailment or two.  All of us are different and ailments will affect us in different ways.  Sore throats are my downfall, despite eventually having my tonsils taken out at eighteen after years of throat infections.  Being a busy mum of three I need to be able to soothe my sore throat to ensure that I am able to carry on family life.  Jakemans is my saving grace and always helps soothe my throat – whether I’m at home or on the move.

The Box Tree // Let The Elves Do It…

December 4, 2017 No Comments

In years gone by many of us would scour the high street in search of the perfect gift for loved ones, family, and friends.  A combination of time constraints and convenience many of us are now shopping online for gifts.  But does shopping online make the gifts impersonal? It doesn’t have to.  With the help of The Box Tree elves, they have gifts which still have that personal touch and all wrapped up for you (literally!).

How car leasing works

December 2, 2017 No Comments

If you need a reliable car to get to work every day and drive your family around in, then you’ll understand the costs and responsibility involved. Buying a car whether through finance or outlay is a considerable initial investment in capital which not everyone has available or can access immediately. Moreover, the ongoing costs of owning your own vehicle in terms of wear and tear and depreciation are making leasing vehicles increasingly more attractive to drivers.

Get your game on with Venom this Christmas

December 2, 2017 No Comments

Gaming has moved on just a touch from my childhood and both Roo and Tigger are well versed on how to load up games etc.  This Christmas they have pooled their Christmas wish and asked Father Christmas for a PS4 – with Tigger adding on a separate wish for the LEGO Worlds game.  Whilst there is a good chance that the big man will fulfill this wish (as long as bedrooms are kept tidy and chores completed), I have been looking at what gaming accessories are available to compliment the console.

Take a look at the selection of gaming accessories available from Venom…

December 1, 2017 No Comments

This year has seen PAW Patrol fever grip our household. Ryder and his team of pups are based in Adventure Bay and are called upon whenever anyone needs their help. Whether it is Callie the cat stuck up the tree or the Adventure Bay lighthouse light goes out and the fog is settling in. With fun, friendship and adventure to be had in each episode. With each of the pups offering a different skill set which when combined with a combination of the other pups helps save the day.

So, the nights are drawing in, it’s pretty dark when you get the kids up for school and the temperature has definitely dropped a few degrees! We all know how to get our homes feeling cosy and warm, whether it’s bringing down all the extra throws and blankets from the loft, buying some new rugs or investing in a new kettle for all the hot drinks we’re going to enjoy!

But what about your garden?
