There is so much to think about at Christmas, and it can become completely overwhelming. Especially when suddenly you have more of a social life than the rest of the year! You may also be working right through the Christmas period, which can make organising yourself seem like a daunting task. That’s why we have come up with some easy ways that you can get organised.
From presents to food to ensure that you can actually take some time to enjoy Christmas! We know that often, making sure you have presents for everyone is the biggest concern, so before we go any further, check out this article on toy range suitable for girls.
Make a gift list, check it twice
First things first. Make a list of everyone you need to buy presents for and keep it updated when you buy gifts. You can write in any ideas that you have and clearly highlight a person’s name when you have bought their gift. Pull out any gifts you have bought in sales throughout the year. Figure out who you are giving them to and write those in. This will prevent you from buying someone more than one gift or being left with gifts you haven’t used. This a simple but important tip.
You may also want to make a list of things that you want and give it to your partner or family member who can spread the word. This will prevent you from getting things you don’t want and stop unnecessary waste or re-gifted items.
Write less Christmas Cards
More and more people are opting to donate to charity, rather than write Christmas Cards, which often become waste. Perhaps, take this stress off yourself altogether and announce to your friends that you will not be doing Christmas cards this year. If you have anyone you still would like to write a card for, such as someone who lives far away or an elderly relative, then get all hands on deck and do it in one night. Put some Christmas music on and make it fun!
Prepare food early
No one wants to spend all of Christmas Day cooking. Lists are the best thing you can use at Christmas time. Make a list of all the food you need to get. Get it all in one shop, so you’re not thinking about Christmas every time you go into the shop and end up buying too much food! Prepare everything you can beforehand. You can make lots of things in the days or weeks before and freeze them. The night before, you can also get all the veg in saucepans and left out, so all you need to do is turn them on! A final tip is to make sure you enjoy Christmas this year! Very often, we get so preoccupied with everything else that we miss out on all Christmas has to offer. Perhaps you want to go ice skating, drive around and look at Christmas lights, or watch your favourite film. Make a list and put it on your fridge. Tick things off as you go and set yourself a challenge. Do them all! With all the time you have just freed up following the other tips, you really have no excuse.
