With the prospect of moving to a bigger house this year we have started to think about rearranging some of the furniture we have already and what we will need to buy. We’re hoping to find a four bedroomed house so that the children can have a room of their own and I hope that they will settle into their new rooms once we have completed a game of musical beds.
Musical beds
We have been after a new larger bed for some time so moving house seems the perfect opportunity to treat ourselves to a nice kingsize bed. Hopefully, with some additional storage underneath as you can never have too much storage and a large headboard, if possible, to really give it that luxury, hotel feel to the room.
Roo currently has bunk beds in her room which are still in great condition but as she is now a tween they aren’t necessarily the best sleeping solution for her. We are hoping to give her our old double bed which we just need to purchase a new double mattress for. This will then give her a bed that will see her through her tween and teen years and will be great for when she has girlie sleepovers. This also provides us with a guest bed when we have family over to stay as Roo could then go in with Tigger for a few nights.
With Roo moving out of her bunk beds these will hopefully be passed down to Tigger who is still in his toddler bed at the age of five, good job that he is only short (bless him). Whilst I don’t think he is quite brave enough to climb up onto the top bunk to sleep it will allow him to have a full-sized single bed and space for when he has his friends sleep over too.
Tigger’s toddler bed will then be taken apart and stored in the attic until Piglet is big enough to use it. We can finally assemble her cot in her room for when she is old enough to be transferred from her crib.
I’m hoping that when we do move and we’ve changed all the beds around the children will be happy with their new sleeping arrangements (fingers crossed). If not, I’m sure some new bedding will change their minds!
