When you like to slide around in socks, it’s only a matter of time before something crops up to stop you in your tracks. This is what happened to Mr Nogginbody, however, he wasn’t sure how to get rid of the nail sticking out of his floor so he could continue sliding around without fear of getting hurt. A story of problem solving and understanding that one way to fix things doesn’t work on everything.

If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. After snagging his toe, Mr Nogginbody makes a visit to his local hardware store in search of solutions. Armed with a new shiny hammer, he successfully fixes the nail protruding from his floor. But the satisfaction of his first repair carries him away and he figures that anything resembling a nail – can be fixed with a good whack. The results are predictably and theatrically disastrous until Mr Nogginbody arrives at a gentle awakening and recognises that not everything is a nail.

A beautifully illustrated story featuring Mr Nogginbody who just wants to slide in his socks. However, a nail gets in his way and suddenly he has to find a way to fix it. An advert for a hardware store leads him to get a new hammer, however, using a hammer isn’t as easy as he thinks. After finally solving one problem, he starts to notice other things that need ‘fixing’. Armed with his hammer he sets about problem solving, however, maybe, just maybe a hammer isn’t always the right tool for the job.
