Summer is here and as a family, we are spending more and more time outdoors. With our garden slowly taking shape the kids are loving playing on the trampoline and in the playhouse. Or in Piglet’s case collecting gravel and placing it in the watering can. Being outdoors means time for picnics, BBQ’s and lots of drinks to keep us cool.
Being on the clumsy side the thought of carrying a tray full of drinks outside sets me on edge. So I’ve been looking for a way to carry at least five drinks without fear of spilling or dropping them. A friend had suggested a wire rack that looked like an old milk bottle holder, however, this only held four drinks and didn’t look too stable either.

Originally I hadn’t looked for something that could be personalised. Wanting something that was practical that could be used for long lazy summer days. However, the garden beer trug from Menkind was able to be personalised across two lines – so it seemed only right that I should add our family name to it.
The wooden trug comes ready assembled and holds up to six large bottles. We have been using this as a drinks holder as well as adding condiments when having picnics and BBQ’s outdoors to save us making several trips back to the kitchen. With a simple wooden handle it makes it easy to carry and with it being made from stained pine it isn’t too heavy once fully loaded.
