Brick Week, Sister Wives and Jackass #LittleLoves – February 2022

Each month I share my #littleloves, a chance to reflect on the things that I have read, watched, heard and made. As well as highlighting what I’ve worn and any other highlights in my life. It’s not about the big things, it’s about all those small little loves that make up everyday life.

This month’s #LittleLoves… February has blown by so quickly – sorry for the Storm Eunice joke! Jokes aside, the shortest month of the year is coming to an end and it really doesn’t feel as though we’ve had the opportunity to make the most of it. Which is part of the reason I like to share my #LittleLoves with you to help me look back at the month and focus on those little things in life that have made me smile.

Time for February’s #LittleLoves…

Read

Whilst searching for something on Amazon I came across a book from Kayley Loring that was on Kindle Unlimited. Downloading it on a whim, I have fallen headfirst into her back catalogue of books, having enjoyed two of her book series’ this month already!

This month I have found myself drawn to romantic comedies, enjoying the laughter alongside the happy ever after.

Watched

For the longest time, I have found myself sitting down to watch TV. Sobbing along to the Netflix After Life series by Ricky Gervais – one that makes you think about present relationships and how heartbreaking it would be if they were no longer possible.

I have also been waiting for the Sister Wives series to finish airing on TLC so that I could sit down and binge-watch the series. Having seen some teaser videos shared on Facebook, I knew the direction that the series was heading but was good to see the reactions from the different sister wives. Whilst I have no idea how the wives ‘share’ one husband, I can see the positives in having sister wives around you. That being said having watched the show from the beginning it is sad to see how the different relationships have deteriorated.

Alongside making the most of the TV, I’ve even managed to have a cinema date with What The Dad Said to watch the new Jackass Forever film – SO FUNNY!

Heard

Christmas feels like so long ago, so having the children home for the half-term holidays have been lovely. Obviously, it’s not all rainbows and sunshine, no family is but wonderful nonetheless to hear them interact with each other.

Wore

Finally kickstarting our family adventures for this year has meant that I finally managed to wear my new Hotter Shoes Waltham Boots. Super comfortable and easy to wear straight out of the box – no need to wear them in, simply put on and get on with your day. Fabulous!

Made

A half-term equals family memories ready to be made and whilst our half term didn’t quite go to plan due to the severe weather warning we did still manage to have some great adventures. Travelling to London for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic to a special LOL Surprise VIP Party show at The O2. A girl’s day out with Piglet, along with Lyndsey and Erin from Me, Him, The Dog and A Baby.

Plus our first visit to Brick Week at Legoland Windsor. Brick-filled fun getting hands-on with the building action, rides and character meet and greets.

Lastly

After nine weeks away from my day job, I finally returned at the beginning of this week. Great to be back and get back into a routine again, although I think I must have driven one of my colleagues batty with the number of questions I had. I was mentally drained by Wednesday evening and it feels in some ways like I was never away.
