It feels as though we have had a relatively quiet week. With life in lockdown ticking by without too much happening to put us off-kilter. The children have adjusted to being keyworker children and learning from home (for Roo). Whilst What The Dad Said and I continue to juggle our work shifts around each other and the children.
Not returning to the NHS
Another week and another rejection telephone call regarding the other NHS position I interviewed for the week before last. Whilst this was a position I wasn’t convinced I could take due to the working hours and location. There is still something disappointing about once again being second best. This time losing out to someone who has up to date experience with their computer systems, whereas my skills are covered in five years of cobwebs.
Thinking about things practically my role at the supermarket is more family-friendly for us at the moment. And quite possibly more secure, although I’m only on a temporary contract until mid-March. I actually quite enjoy the different tasks I complete on my shifts. Plus it’s nice to be out and back in the workplace – especially being able to leave things behind once my shift is over.
Dishwasher down
Washing dishes is one of those household jobs that I really don’t like doing. I can recall moving from our first flat into a house and making sure there was space for a dishwasher. A callout from Roo after dinner on Friday alerted me to the fact that the dishwasher was leaking all across the kitchen floor. To be honest, it hasn’t been cleaning things amazingly for the last few months but we have been struggling on with regular cleaning cycles etc. Fingers crossed that this is an easy fix so I don’t have to don the marigolds.
