Christmas preparations have been in full swing this week. Ensuring that the last of the gifts have been ordered or are ready to be purchased when I head to the supermarket next week. With everything wrapped up and the final Christmas cards are written. It’s as though I’ve finally realised that despite life in lockdown Christmas is just around the corner and I needed to pull my finger out.
Festive contract
I received an unexpected telephone call on Thursday inviting me to an interview for a festive position at a supermarket, With the interview taking place on Friday, I completed my induction yesterday ahead of my first shift tomorrow. It’s only a short contract through to the New Year but it will be a good bonus financially in January. Fingers crossed it goes.
What happened to social distancing?
After coming out of another lockdown and the reality of Christmas just around the corner you would think that everyone would be on their best behaviour and following the social distancing guidelines/restrictions. However, this week (like many before it) I have noticed that social distancing has gone out of the window. Whether it is because people think that wearing masks no longer need to keep their distance.
Getting into the festive spirit
The usual story cafes, nativity attendances and Christmas fete are all on hold. Thankfully the primary school have been planning ways in which the children can enjoy the festive season. Piglet recorded her nativity this week and I can’t wait to be able to watch it next week.
