With research findings showing the significant shift in the role of men in parenting, Hot Wheels celebrates the important part dads play in their children’s lives this Father’s Day. The new campaign will remind dads of their childhood, celebrate their connection with their children and champion the value of playing together.
As the definition of family changes amongst millennial parents, dads are now playing a more important role than ever in the upbringing of their children.
The new study reveals:
- Aspirational role. Dads want to make a positive impact on their children’s lives more than ever before.
- Value of quality ‘dad’ time. Dads are spending more and more time with their children.
- Balancing responsibilities. Dads believe the responsibilities are split evenly in the household (but mums still see this differently!)
- Childhood memories. Dads are more likely than mums to choose toys that remind them of their childhood or that can help build a connection with their child.
The campaign dedicated to ‘Dads Who Never Need to Grow Up’ includes a video that delves into children’s perceptions of dads and reveals that modern-day dads do know who to have fun and have the ‘cool’ factor that makes them fun to play with.
To help show Mr Boo that there is no need for him to grow up either Mattel very kindly sent us over the Hot Wheels Super Speed Blastway. With Mr Boo away on business until the weekend Tigger decided to get a head start on the Hot Wheels action (in fact it had to be opened immediately as he was sooooo exited!).
The Hot Wheels Super Speed Blastway comes neatly packaged complete with one car which I would have personally loved to have seen two cars included as it a raceway playset – mind you Tigger has more than enough Hot Wheels cars to choose from so it wasn’t a problem for us.
Take a look at the Hot Wheels Super Speed Blastway in action…
As you can see the concept of this track is quite simple, load your car and keep whacking the lever until your car has managed to pop out your chequered flag. Tigger was quite happy to have a race against himself whack the levers until his arms couldn’t take any more.
It has a RRP of £22.99 but is currently available on Amazon for just £16.99 which I feel is a great price to treat dad to this father’s day or put away for Christmas.
Disclosure: We received a Hot Wheels Super Speed Blastway FOC for the purpose of review
