When we moved house earlier this year it meant that the school runs no longer needed to be completed using the car. With the local primary school, just a 3-minute walk from our house there is no need. Each morning I look at the clock in the kitchen and leave at 8.28am so that we arrive once the school doors are open and we miss having to wait outside in the queue.
In the warmer weather, I don’t mind standing outside waiting to be let in, however, as the weather is starting to become unpredictable I’m happy to leave it until the last-minute before we have to leave. This also gives me the added benefit of not having to push my way down a narrow corridor with Piglet’s pushchair to reach Tigger’s classroom.
Hi Gear Trent II Kids’ 3-in-1 Jacket
With the start of a new school year, I knew that I would need to replace Tigger’s old school coat. Although he still fits in it (he could do with a growth spurt bless him), it isn’t really suitable for the rain, the wind, and possibly snow we will get over the coming months. Roo has a 3-in-1 jacket that has lasted her for over a year, so when it came to buying Tigger a coat I knew that a 3-in-1 type jacket would be the one to get.
At the end of the school holidays, and still terribly disorganised I managed to spot Go Outdoors back to school promotions. One of the items that they were showcasing was their Hi Gear Trent II Kids’ 3-in-1 Jacket. Looking online I was able to select from several different colours although Tigger had requested a black jacket. Priced at just £30.00 for a 3-in-1 jacket I was surprised at the price and had expected to pay more than that.
The Hi Gear Trent II Kids’ 3-in-1 Jacket can be worn in three different ways, giving much-needed flexibility without the need to have different jackets hung up on the coat stand ‘just in case’.
Key features:
- Waterproof jacket with removable zipped fleece inner (each can be worn alone)
- Foldaway hood (Secured under the collar of the waterproof jacket)
- Adjustable cuffed sleeves to help prevent the wind getting in
- Zipped pockets to keep treasures and gloves in place when not needed
- Storm flap to help prevent wind and rain coming through the zip fastening
All-in-one Jacket
With the fleece and waterproof jacket zipped together and secured with popper straps at the wrists and neckline it provides a warm and dry jacket to protect Tigger against the elements. With a foldaway hood, storm flap and zipped pockets, it is the perfect coat to pop on and snuggle into on the school run.
Fleece
A fleece jacket that is perfect for autumn days when the weather is dry but there is a chill in the air. Complete with two front pockets and binding to the hem which gives that gathered look to the waistline – also stops drafts getting in too.
Waterproof Jacket
Thirdly, a waterproof jacket for when the spring showers arrive. This will be great for school trips and days out as a family just in case the heavens open. With the option to have the hood out ready for the rain or folded away makes it a flexible design and the zipped pockets allow Tigger to keep hold of his treasures he has collected along the way.
A great all-in-one jacket for whatever the season. Perfect for school, days out and afternoons spent looking for the Gruffalo.
The Hi Gear Trent II Kids’ 3-in-1 Jacket is available to buy from Go Outdoors.
