Autumn is in full swing and just around the corner winter is peeking at us. The dark mornings, short days and dark evenings combined with regular visits from Jack Frost are on their way. Whilst the surrounding gardens look beautiful with a sprinkling of snow and the children get excited at the prospect of a snow day, the winter weather does cause everyday issues when trying to get to work, complete the school run or grab some shopping from the supermarket.
It’s not just the everyday issues it causes it’s the cold that gets into your bones no matter how many layers you have put on, no matter how big your scarf is and if you have been lucky enough to find a matching pair of gloves. Once you are cold it feels like an age before you are warm again. So you can see why I’ve considered escaping the winter weather for warmer climes.
In fact it’s Mr Boo memorising about when he went to visit family in Australia with his Nanny when he was a teenager that has made me think about enjoying a traditional English Christmas at home before setting off into the sunset on a cruise in Africa and Indian Ocean. I’m not sure I could get my head around enjoying Christmas dinner whilst it is hot outside which makes me want to have the family Christmas I’m used to at home (in the cold), seeing in the New Year watching the fireworks on the TV whilst packing for a fabulous winter holiday to somewhere fabulous and hot.
It seems I’m not the only one who would like to escape the winter weather and jet off to warmer climes. When I asked some of my fellow bloggers whether they had thought about escaping the winter weather it was a resounding YES!
Curious to see where they would head off in search of some winter sun I asked if they had thought about where they would go…
Anya from Older Single Mum said she’d love to soak in some of the winter sun in the Caribbean or Goa
Maggy from Red Ted Art would love to visit Mexico as she has never been and is on her ‘to-do list’
Becky from A Beautiful Space said she’d like to go back to Texas after spending some time there in past
Cass from Frugal Family actually said that she loves the cold (or at least she loves it when she’s snuggled indoors) so would stay in the UK but find the poshest hotel in the country to hide out in. Taking a good book to sit and drinking hot chocolate by an open fire
