Happy Blogoversary to me
If you hadn’t guessed today is my two year blogoversary, yes that’s right two years ago as I was preparing to return to work after maternity leave with Tigger I decided to start Boo Roo and Tigger Too. So let me give you an update on what the last year has brought for us.
Boo
After initially increasing my hours to five days a week last year following Mr Boo’s redundancy I reduced back down to three days in January. Partly as Mr Boo now had a stable job and partly as I was struggling to juggle working full time with childcare, child illness, housework and being increasingly more tired. Reducing my hours has worked out quite well for me and three days suits me at the moment. Unfortunately I am juggling my job on three days as my last job share left in May and they have been unable to recruit a replacement. In many ways this suits me as I can do the job my way and not have to double check someone else’s work.
Roo
It’s funny how much someone can change in a year, Roo has become so grown up from the little girl who started Year 1 in September. As she starts a new school year, her last year at her infant school she is full of confidence and enthusiasm for learning new things (long may this last).
Enjoying the High School Musical and Teen Beach movies whilst singing and dancing around her bedroom. I’m sure she has ants in her pants as that girl cannot sit still.
Tigger
Day by day I see Tigger growing in confidence in front of my eyes, he is slowly moving away from the shy boy who wouldn’t say boo to a goose into the loud, chatty little boy we know at home. His main love in his life are his Thomas Take n Play trains, no matter where we go he seems to find a new one to buy (even when we were at Butlins).
A protective younger brother to Roo, he will stick up for her and does not like to see her get into trouble and upset. Offering cuddles and holding hands to make everything all better.
Blog
I’m still amazed by the blogging community, they can rally around each other when it is most needed. Like life however, there are a few rotten apples in the cart. I have learned to remember that it is my name above the door so what I choose to blog about or not blog about is my choice.
Blogging itself has opened so many doors with regards to opportunities, review products and most importantly some amazing friends.
If someone was to ask each of us what our blogging highlight of the year was I think I can guess at the answers. For Mr Boo I would have to say it was test driving the Volvo XC60 for a few weeks before Christmas last year, he loved that car and still mentions it now.
Roo I think would say Skylanders, we were lucky enough to receive a copy of Skylanders Giants and as she already had Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure it cemented her love of the game. More recently at Lollibop she was able to play the upcoming Skylanders Swap Force (which I had to drag her away from).
Tigger would probably choose our Butlins trip as he got to see Thomas the Tank on stage, in fact every time we went back to the stage to see a different show he was convinced that Thomas was coming back out to see him.
For me it is a difficult one, I think I would have to say attending Britmums Live for the second year. It was a chance to meet bloggers I had chatted with via social media, catch up with bloggers from the year before and learn how I take my blog to the next stage.
I really can’t believe that two years has gone so quickly, I could never have thought that I would be sat here writing this post when I first started. Thank you to each and every one of you who have read, commented, shared my posts. To all the lucky winners of my giveaways and for those of you not lucky enough to have won any please stay tuned as I have several giveaways happening over the next week.
Please raise your glasses and toast to another year x
Boo xxx
