Garden design styles that you can use for any sized garden

February 24, 2018

Your garden is an important part of your home. It is a place that not only your entire family can use, but it is the part of your home that can often be seen from the outside. One of the only downsides about gardens is that they come in a variety of shapes and sizes, which means that whilst some have plenty of space, others can feel a little short.

The thing to remember when it comes to your garden is that style doesn’t have to be linked to space. In fact, there are a number of garden design styles that you can choose which are ideal for a variety of gardens.

Comfortable and social with garden rattan furniture

An incredibly popular approach to take with your garden space is to make it comfortable and social. After all, it is the ideal place to spend time with family and friends. This means that one of the first amazing garden design styles that you can try out has to be one of comfort. Treat yourself to some garden rattan furniture that is not only comfortable, but that will give you a space to bring people together too.

Luscious and green with a beautifully maintained lawn

No matter the size of your garden, it is important to pay attention to your lawn. After all, it is often the focal point of your outdoor space. The lawn isn’t always easy to maintain, however, with some research and the right tools, you are going to make sure that you have a lawn that is going to not only look beautiful but is also going to be the envy of your neighbourhood too.

Make it bright and colourful with some amazing flowerbeds

As well as your lawn, your flowerbeds are also an incredibly important part of your garden. Flowerbeds are the easy way to bring colour to your garden and they can be placed in a variety of places throughout your garden too. What we love about flowerbeds is that they are relatively easy to maintain and you can plant whatever flowers you want in them. Not only this, but you can also plant veggies and fruits too. Which is ideal for those who want to create an edible garden.

Small gardens can always make room for small touches

If you are worried about the size of your garden, then you may be worried about how you can design it, and make it look its best. The small touches are the answer. Vases, lights, pots and of course ornaments. All of these things are going to add a special touch to your beautiful garden and best of all, it doesn’t matter what size garden you have.

Take inspiration from your family

Gardens are the ideal space for a family. They give them a place to relax and unwind as well as a place to play and have fun. If you are short of space, then rather than giving up the opportunity for your garden to be for your entire family, you should embrace this. Make sure that you have those important things in your garden, such as a place for your family to play. Or perhaps a relaxing area with an addition such as a firepit and cushions, which will give you a space to come together.

Make it a wildlife haven

One thing that you will quickly realise about wildlife is that they do not care how big your garden is. So, why not make your garden a place that they can call their own, as well as you? The easiest wildlife to appeal to are birds. You can place bird feeders and bird baths around which will draw them in. Bugs are another type of creature that you can attract to your garden. The great thing about this is that you can do it as a family. Bug hotels are incredibly easy to make and they are great fun too.

As you can see, there are a variety of ways that you can design and style your garden, no matter the size, shape or style. All you need is an imagination and some desire to make the changes too.

The important thing to remember if you have a small garden is that you don’t have to be disheartened with the space that you have. Instead, embrace it. After all, it is the only garden that you are going to have and you should make the most of it. In whatever way you can.
