The Easter holidays will soon be over and it’s time to return to the reality of school and work. Tomorrow will be spent trying to get uniforms ready, ensuring I have food to put in the children’s lunch boxes as well as finishing off Roo’s school project.
Before I hide under a mountain of odd socks let me tell you about what we have been up to this week, it’s been a busy one so hold on tight…
Saturday
With a couple of jobs that needed doing in town we decided to make the most of it and enjoy a trip to the Time and Tide Museum and undertake their ‘not all eggs are laid by chickens’ quiz. The children had fun trying to find the clues and looking at the various eggs that are laid by different animals. On completion they got a creepy crawly each (nice!).
Sunday
Easter Sunday, a day when I thought that the children would be all over there Easter eggs however weren’t really that fussed (and in fact they are still sitting there now untouched).
We’d bought the children some bits and bobs for Easter as we don’t get them chocolate so it was a good excuse to have a bit of a sort out of their rooms whilst we found homes for their new bits and bobs.
Monday
After waiting what seemed like forever we finally managed to see Disney’s Big Hero 6 at the cinema (thanks to my Sun+ Perks). The kids enjoyed it, Roo found it a little emotional however Tigger thought it was fabulous.
In the afternoon we headed over to Norwich Castle so that Roo could take a look at the Egyptian artefacts as she doing a school project on them and we needed to get some photos to included within it.
Tuesday
A day of catching up on everything at home, washing, ironing etc. all those wonderful household chores (not!). The children were quite happy to play in their rooms most of the day, a rare day of sibling harmony.
Wednesday
We attended the grand opening of Thomas Land™ expansion at Drayton Manor – a day that I’d been hiding from the children for a couple of weeks as I knew it would be a fantastic surprise for them.
Roo and Tigger have grown up with Thomas Land™ and they loved seeing the new and old rides within the expansion. It was a very long day as we had to drive there and back again in one day as Mr Boo only had Wednesday off work but it was well worth it to see the look on the children’s faces.
Thursday
An unexpected trip to London for myself and the children. Taking advantage of our Merlin Annual Passes we enjoyed a trip around SEA LIFE London Aquarium™ and the Coca-Cola London Eye.
The weather was beautiful so we stopped to enjoy the entertainment and park along the South Bank.
Friday
Having had a couple of busy days I had booked myself a pyjama day.
Things never quite work out the way you want them to and soon was out of my pyjamas, dressed and taking Tigger to the doctors with another bout of tonsillitis.
Saturday
Mr Boo is away for the weekend enjoying WWE Birmingham (his Christmas present from me) and then the Gadget Show Live the day after. So I was home alone with the kids today, with the local Easter fun fair in town we took a little trip over to enjoy some of the rides.
