Back in 2010, a new period drama hit our screens and won the nation over (as well as worldwide acclaim too). Joining the Crawley family who resides at Downton Abbey along with their team of staff below stairs. We followed their highs and their lows, laughed and cried along with them. Allowing us to tune in for six series until 2015 when our hearts were broken with the finale. Thankfully creator Julian Fellowes listened to the outcry from Downton Abbey fans and last year Downton Abbey The Movie was released into cinemas.

Our thoughts of Downton Abbey The Movie
Having loved watching the lives of the Crawleys and their staff change over the years. The movie was a both a good chance to catch up with them but also to see some loose ends tied up for some of the characters.
The story of a royal visit to Downton Abbey was always going to be special. It was lovely to see the different staff members rally around and showcase their personalities and qualities. Especially fighting back against the royal household staff who attempt to take over the running of Downton during their stay.
