I had just started high school when the original Lion King film was released into cinemas. With a heartbreaking and heartwarming storyline, as well as a powerful soundtrack it had everyone under its spell. I can still recall singing the soundtrack songs within the school choir. Given that the original film was such a big hit, it is understandable why they waited so many years before completing a remake,
For one reason or another, we missed seeing the film on the big screen, so we’re delighted to receive a special Disney’s The Lion King goody box to enjoy the film at home to coincide with the release to DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download.

In The Lion King, pioneering filmmaking techniques bring treasured characters to life in a whole new way. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. FAMILY FILM NIGHT
As soon as I popped the Disney’s The Lion King in the lounge ready for family film night, the children were asking whether it was time to sit down, snuggle up and enjoy the film. Having loved the original film so much I did wonder whether we would enjoy this version quite as much. However, Disney’s current run of ‘live-action’ style films are proving popular in the Boo Roo and Tigger Too household.
Our goody box included a Nala teddy bear to cuddle whilst watching the film, as well as an array of colouring and activity sheets. These proved helpful for Piglet to enjoy whilst we were making the popcorn and setting up the DVD player. Before we knew it, it was time to tune in and watch the story of Disney’s The Lion King unfold.
The opening scenes did not disappoint and we were hooked into the storyline straightaway. With the voices selected for the different characters proving to be great, James Earl Jones making a big impact as Mufasa. With such a beautiful accompanying soundtrack, we really enjoyed sitting down together to watch the new Disney’s The Lion King.
A wonderful family film to watch together and perfect for a family film night.
