Just like that we have reached the final #LittleLoves of the year. I’m actually quite annoyed with myself that I wasn’t able to complete a whole year. With my post falling by the wayside this month between the chaos of Christmas, school activities and family life. Chasing my tail for at least the last month, I don’t know if I’m coming or going. The New Year needs to see changes in lifestyle made, I cannot continue in the manner I have been. A balance needs to be found, goals to be set and a different way of thinking.
Time for this week’s #LittleLoves….
Read
Other than the various Peppa Pig stories that Piglet received fro Christmas, I haven’t picked up a book. Father Christmas failed to bring me the Kindle Oasis that I’d placed upon my Christmas wish list in the hopes of reading more in the New Year. I guess it’s something that I will just have to drop hints for in the lead up to Mother’s Day.
Watched
Christmas TV is one of the highlights of the year. Although I failed to purchase the Radio Times and highlight all the things to watch/record. I have managed to see the majority of the festive favourites. From classic Gavin & Stacey Christmas Special from 2008 (that made me feel old!). To Call the Midwife (which had be sobbing into my tub of Celebrations). Followed by Victoria, which made me realise that I still haven’t watched The Crown season two on Netflix.
Heard
Although the Christmas tunes have been locked back in the vault for another year. I’ve really enjoyed listening to the Christmas classics. Alongside Michael Buble Christmas CD – I’m sure that man could sing about anything and make it sound fabulous!
Made
Can I count the whole of the festive season under this section? Between purchasing and wrapping gifts and writing Christmas cards. Which if I do say so myself, I think ours this year were fabulous. I purchased personalised Christmas cards from Dorothy & Theodore which were a cartoon version of our family… too cute!
And into this mix organising and attending Christmas events. Plus all the Christmas food, although I was blessed to have Mr. Boo do the majority of the catering this year – with me picking up the fun tasks of making sweet treats for his colleagues.
Wore
Whilst Mr. Boo has made full use of his Christmas Jumper collection. I managed to add a couple of Joules festive harbour tops to my own wardrobe to help me get into the spirit. The red Jingle Belle Joules top eluded my shopping basket – although it is currently in the sale so maybe one last festive treat or and early Christmas present for next year?
The children’s school unfortunately, don partake in Christmas Jumper Day so we didn’t bother purchasing new jumpers for them this year. I did, however, spot the most adorable elf pyjamas in the Sainsbury’s 25% off sale a few weeks ago. Complete with matching tutu’s for the girls I couldn’t resist in purchasing them for an extra Christmas treat. So adorable!
Lastly
Today is my birthday. Anyone with a birthday in December or close to Christmas and the New Year will tell you that it’s never the same as those with birthdays at other times of the year. In many ways I have accepted it but there is the inner child in me that longs for a huge fuss of my birthday.
