As a child I loved Barbie, owning a Barbie Camper Van and many, many dolls and accessories – however the one thing I never owned was a Barbie house (do you all feel sorry for me?). So when we were offered the opportunity to review the Barbie Malibu House I must confess to doing a little happy dance, alas Roo saw it when she came home from school and claimed it for herself (little does she know I play with it whilst she is at school!).
Barbie Malibu House
The amazing Barbie Malibu House comes straight from Barbie’s online series, Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse. Set over two-storeys, this home is the perfect place for girls to recreate their favourite Barbie scenes or create their own stories. It’s also the perfect place for Barbie to relax and enjoy time with her friends and family. With its six rooms full of fabulous details and stylish furniture, there’s plenty of space for Barbie to entertain and lot of fun accessories to bring stories to life.

Barbie Malibu House – Rooms:
The ground floor of the Barbie Malibu House hosts a living room, dining area and kitchen with lots of different accessories to allow for lots of interaction. The kitchen for example includes crockery, cutlery and food items.
Upstairs the Barbie Malibu House is the envy of most households, Barbie has her own TV room which comes complete with funky egg shaped chair, tablet, popcorn and pizza. The wall hosts a phone holder where you can sit your smartphone to create a mini TV.
The bedroom is a dual purpose room which when the bed is down allows Barbie to drift off to the land of nod, complete with pillows and blanket. Lift the bed up to find Barbie’s wardrobe and shower, transforming the room into a dressing/showering area with the bathroom next door.
Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
When we first opened the box and found the Barbie Malibu House in several sections I did worry that it would be a nightmare to put together, thankfully with the help of some fabulous instructions it didn’t take half as long as I thought it would. With the addition of stickers it transforms the plastic play house into a Malibu mansion fit for Barbie and her friends (although the stickers are a little tricky to place).
Once together it was together we suddenly realised just how large the Barbie Malibu House really is, however it folds up into a square which allows it to be placed in a corner and doesn’t take up too much room. Simply unfold for hours of play across the six rooms and winding staircase.
Roo really loved having her Barbie’s interact with the Malibu House, in fact at one stage she had a different Barbie in each room with the Barbie Glam Camper parked outside, which was a stroke of genius as it comes complete with a hot tub (a must have for any Malibu House). With Tawny horse stabled to one side she laid playing for hours and I have to admit to feeling a little nostalgic watching her.
Available from Amazon, Argos and all other good toy retailers with a £99.99 RRP, although currently on offer for around £65 which is great value given the size of the Barbie Malibu House and the accessories included.
