A very special and proud moment happened to my family back in July. My younger brother Shorty (bless him, he was so short as a toddler but the name has stuck) graduated from university. In doing this he has become the first person in our family to do so and to say we were proud is an understatement.
Roo and I made the journey back ‘up north’ to stay with Granny in order to attend his graduation ceremony. Before the ceremony I had a chance to take a few photos of him in his robes. I managed to snap a lovely one of Roo with her uncle and another with Granny and Shorty. Although for some reason I never did get a photo of myself with him (too busy taking them I guess).
When I was offered the opportunity to capture one of my photos on canvas I knew exactly which photo I wanted to use.
Within a few days my canvas had arrived. I decided to wait a few days before opening as I wanted to see Granny’s face when it was opened for the first time. The wait was most certainly worth it, she was pleased as punch.
I was surprised to see just fabulous the quality of the colours, print and finish were on the canvas. The attention to detail was wonderful, even the corners were folded neatly to ensure that the image wrapped beautifully around the edge.
As Granny was so taken by the canvas I decided it was only fair to let her take it. She was over the moon and it now hangs proudly in her entrance hall for all visitors to see.
