Roo has gained her love of Sonic the Hedghog from both myself and Mr Boo. Ever since Mr Boo installed Sonic Dash on the iPad Roo has been hooked. He love of the game only increased when she had the opportunity to play the new Sonic Lost World game on the Wii U at a Christmas in July event.
So when the opportunity came for her to review a Sonic the Hedgehog Meccano set I thought that this would be a great opportunity to share her love of Sonic but have a breakaway from screen time. The Meccano Sonic The Hedgehog – Sonic & Green Hill Ramp Playset is just one of the available Meccano playsets that can be joined together to form a larger playing area.
Meccano Sonic The Hedgehog – Sonic & Green Hill Ramp Playset contains:
- 1 build-able ramp
- 1 build-able Sonic figure
- 1 build-able vehicle with pull back motor
- Decorations
- Screwdriver
- Assembly instructions
The instructions are pictured based, which makes it easy and straightforward for a child to understand and follow. The playset contains all you will need in order to build the set, from the screwdriver and bolts to the sticker decorations that transform the playset into the scenery we all know from the computer game.
The car is a pull back and let go motion so it will propel itself along the ramp once you have let go… but will you get it through the gold ring to claim your green chaos emerald?
Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
As the set comes from Meccano I was disappointed to see that the ramp and the gold ring where in fact cardboard. Whilst the main track is made of rigid plastic the ramp is just a piece of cardboard fold and slotted into place, which when moved had to be realigned into place. The gold ring and supports were along cardboard which given that they are going to have a car hurtling towards it I would I have thought it would have been better to be the same rigid plastic as the track.
The track is able to be joined to other Meccano Sonic playsets so this is a set that can be added to over time.
