When it comes to the food I eat I have to be completely honest and say that I know what I like, and I stick to what I know I like (can’t imagine where Tigger gets his fussiness from). Mr Boo has always eaten a wide range of foods, I guess that is one of the perks of having parents who are chefs. From the moment we started dating he has slowly been broadening my taste buds and I now eat far more than I ever did (cue my expanding waistline). One thing we both have never tried is Quorn, something that I have always associated with vegetarians so why would I need to eat it? Over the past few weeks I have been introducing Quorn to our family…
All about Quorn
Quorn was launched in 1985 and is now sold in 16 countries worldwide. Quorn is produced as both a cooking ingredient and a range of ready meals. The brand has been praised for the nutritional value of its products as they are high in protein and low in fat, making it a great alternative to meat and a tool for the fitness conscious.
Quorn product range
After being sent some vouchers to try out the range I made a trip to our local supermarket to see what was available. With so many different options to choose from I opted for Quorn chicken pieces, Quorn peppered steaks and Quorn sausages. With a selection of both fresh and frozen products available it is worth checking in your local supermarket to see what you can stock up on.

Family friendly meals
Having recently started upon the Slimming World lifestyle it has made me look at what goes into our family meals. Introducing Quorn to our family has been relatively straightforward and to be honest it has mad me keen to try more of the different products available as the preparation and cooking times are great for busy family lives but the food remains tasty.
Adding Quorn peppered steaks to some homemade chips and salad was a tasty treat for Mr Boo, whilst I preferred the Quorn chicken pieces as I tend t eat more chicken than any other meat. The Quorn chicken pieces are so versitile and can be added to stews, curries, stir-fry’s and even a fabulous Caesar salad.
One of my favourite easy to make recipes has to be Quorn chicken noodles which are not only tasty but Slimming World friendly too…

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
Introducing Quorn to our family has been a very easy transition, with many of the Quorn products around or cheaper in price than their meat equivalent they have added a healthy protein to our diets without breaking the bank.
Have you tried Quorn?
Do you have any Quorn friendly recipes that you could share with me?
Disclosure: We received supermarket vouchers to purchase Quorn products FOC for the purpose of review.
