Germany might not be a destination that would spring to mind when you think about your family holiday, but actually, it is family-friendly with plenty of things to do. There are some great cities and destinations, attractions that you can visit, and the climate is quite similar to that of France. So why haven’t we put Germany higher up the list of potential holiday destinations to go to as a family?

Head to a theme park
First up, let’s talk about theme parks. Many of you will consider theme parks or other similar attractions when you are away with the family. It can be a great way to help you spend a full day bonding as a family and having a lot of fun. First up, why not look at getting Movie Park tickets? Movie Park is about 50km north of Dusseldorf and is a great location to visit. A park with seven dedicated areas for movies and TV series.
There is also Europa Park. Home to a total of 11 rollercoasters and is Germany’s largest theme park and is situated in the area of Rust. For any lego fans, you will be pleased to know that Germany has its very own Lego Land and it could rival our ever-popular Windsor resort.
Visit the Zoo
Another firm family attraction would be to consider visiting a Zoo. ZooBerlin has one of the most extensive collections of animals in one place, and with it being close to the city of Berlin, could be the perfect attraction to combine with your stay in Germany. There are also many others around the country that each offer different things. Heading to Munchener Tierpark Hellabrunn where you can see some of the animals in uncaged environments. Making it an immersive experience. There is also the Tierpark Hagenback. No matter where you are in Germany you are bound to find an animal attraction that the whole family will love.
Explore museums and art galleries
It may not sound like your first choice, but you might be surprised how interested and invested your children might be in visiting museums and art galleries in a different country. Germany has some incredible ones for you to explore. The first one to mention would be Deutsches Museum in Munich. It is an interactive museum that focuses a lot on science and technology. One that you and your children might find fascinating is the Toy Museum in Nurnberg. It was created back in 1971 and houses some nostalgic and vintage toys that your kids will love seeing.

- Zugspitze – One of the tallest summits in Germany, this is one for active members of the family who enjoy hiking and exploring in the countryside. Plus it gives incredible views when you start climbing.
- Tropical Islands – This is a tropical paradise of pools and is the perfect water experience for you and the family. There are also several dining and entertainment spots on the complex.
