Life In Lockdown… The announcement came this week that life in lockdown measures would need to continue for a further three weeks. Looking across social media as this news filtered through I saw a mixed bag of reactions. Some wondering how they can manage for another three weeks. Something thinking that the measures should be easing by now. Then the others who were not surprised by the extension.
Life In Lockdown {Week 5}
Extending lockdown
I fall into the latter category, having resigned myself to the fact that we are likely to be in some sort of lockdown until at least June. With the slow process to return life to anywhere near what it used to be. As well as thinking that the children will be home from school until September. Whilst this all sounds quite bleak, I feel it is better to have a slower transition back to reality than pushing too soon and having to re-instate lockdown measures.
Reception Class of 2020
With all that has been going on I had completely forgotten that the school places were going to announced this week. An email alerted me to login into the Norfolk County Council website. Thankfully good news for us with Piglet gaining a first choice place at our local school. I wasn’t too worried that she wouldn’t gain a place as we are in the catchment, Tigger attends the school and she attends the preschool. I’m not too sure that the teachers will be ready for her very different personality compared to her siblings.
The end of the Easter hoilidays
Today marks the last day of the Easter holidays. With the children returning to their home schooling programme tomorrow. Emails from the children’s schools have indicated that they have a plan of action for the coming weeks (and possibly months).
Although the holidays have been very different to the ones we had planned, thanks to life in lockdown. It has been wonderful to enjoy lazy days, family film nights and time in the garden.
