Parents and children alike are being more aware of the food that they are consuming. Looking at the choices available and making informed decisions on what to enjoy for that given meal time. McDonald’s understand this and have made significant changes to their menu options, with a selection of meals under 400 and 600 calories available for adults to enjoy. But what about the children? Whilst the traditional burger, chicken nuggets and fish fingers are still available and much-loved. McDonald’s wanted to add additional choices to this menu.
Working alongside Mumsnetters they surveyed over 1000 parents to see what new addition they would like to see on the Happy Meal menu. 78% of participants wanted to see a grilled chicken wrap added to the menu.
Happy Meal Grilled Chicken Wrap
Following months of research and focus groups with Mumsnetters, McDonald’s has added a grilled chicken wrap to its Happy Meal options. Allowing chicken to enjoy grilled chicken pieces, lettuce and tomato sauce all wrapped in a tortilla wrap. Whilst this itself sounds delicious, McDonald’s appreciates that we all enjoy our food slightly differently and you are able to customise the wrap. Ordering via the digital kiosks you can slight hit customise and add in a selection of cucumber, tomato etc. Or even remove the elements that are possibly not to your child’s liking. This is also great for when older children need a little extra in their Happy Meal but not quite as much as an Extra Value Meal.
An afternoon of McDonald’s Happy Meal fun
Last weekend I and the children headed over to McDonald’s St Pauls for an afternoon of Happy Meal fun. With the new grilled chicken wrap launched earlier in the week, it was a chance to taste test the final product. Alongside this, the children were treated to activities, games, face painting, and the all-important balloon creations – which is a necessity for all children’s parties!
