When I think back to when Roo was a toddler – a similar age to what Piglet is now. I would never have even thought about what technology she would be utilising at the nursery. Piglet, however, is a different story. Nine years on and technology is part and parcel of our everyday lives. With two older siblings who utilise tablets, it was only a matter of time before Piglet showed an interest. Although it was a Tapestry notification from her nursery that told me about who well she sits with the LeapPad’s that they have available that prompted me to think more about technology for her.
Technology for a toddler
When it came to thinking about technology for a toddler, LeapFrog has it covered. With a range of toys for babies through to educational toys and their award-winning LeapPad which is available in a couple of different models. Although at the lower end of the age scale for the LeapFrog LeapPad Ultimate Piglet has been using a similar model at her nursery so I was confident that she’d be able to navigate around the different activities available.

LeapFrog LeapPad Ultimate // Learning through play
Piglet has been using the LeapPad Ultimate for around a month and if I’m completely honest I don’t think we’ve touched the surface of all things that you can use it for. With her recognising the video and game content that she has previously enjoyed she happily heads over and discovers them time and time again.
With differently themed cartridges available including Finding Dory and Trolls, this is something that we can add to over time to add more content. Enabling us to continue using the LeapPad Ultimate as she grows and starts to learn new areas at preschool, reception and through Key Stage One and Two at school.
Join us across the year for updates on how we have been using the LeapPad Ultimate to introduce Piglet to technology and enable her to learn through play.
