September 5, 2013
If you’re looking for an action-packed adventure or a relaxing weekend, why not head to England’s beautiful capital? Book a train ticket to London and experience the sights and sounds of this world-famous city renowned for its amazing attractions, perfect parks and horrible history.

There’s so much to see and do, but here are five things to squeeze into your itinerary:

Wonder round the West End

Venture into the heart of London and experience the magic of the West End, home to some of the most beautiful theatres in the world. Catch a show at the wonderfully grand Theatre Royal Drury Lane designed by Benjamin Wyatt or pass by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s London Palladium. Meander down the bustling streets and keep an eye out for celebrities as you pass the glittering playhouses.

Visit Trafalgar Square

Grab your camera and head to Trafalgar Square – one of London’s most popular tourist sites. Snap Nelson’s column at the epicentre and take time to admire the four lion sculptures at its base. Stroll past the oddly-shaped Olympic countdown clock patiently ticking away and watch the various street performances that take place round the area. See if you can spot a small Tardis-like booth that used to be a police station and watch out for the ever-curious pigeons.

Ride the EDF Energy London Eye

Hop on the EDF Energy London Eye and experience London from above. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city and admire the grandeur of the capital from 135-metres-high. You can see up to 40-kilometres into the distance on a clear day, so why not give this incredible attraction a go? The London Eye is one of the biggest observation wheels in the world and offers exquisite views over the River Thames.

Experience the Southbank Centre

Head from the London Eye, to the Southbank Centre, a celebrated art centre that will make your heart flutter. Many people catch a train to London and spend an entire weekend in the city – just to explore this sensational attraction which delights millions of tourists from across the globe. Spread across an impressive 21-acre site, the centre’s home to a number of gems including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Saison Poetry Library – which houses the most comprehensive collection of modern poetry in Britain.

Visit London’s parks

Make the most of the warmer months by taking a relaxing stroll around one of London’s beautiful Royal Parks. Visit Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park once frequented by Karl Marx and George Orwell or head to Primrose Hill for a relaxing picnic. Four pelicans are fed at St. James’s Park every day and deckchairs are available overlooking the water. Escape the hustle and bustle of London’s busy streets and enjoy nature at its best.
