With the decision made from my work that I was to be made redundant, I sat down with Mr. Boo and discussed our options. I could opt to return to work outside the home or I could continue with my freelance work from home. Having little access to childcare working from home is the obvious choice, however, by no means the easiest one.
Wanting to make sure that I looked at my freelance work as my job rather than something a little extra that enables us to take the children for days out etc. I need to be organised. Working in Administration for many years I am used to managing others diaries and timetables etc but when it comes to myself I’m not so great. This needs to change and part of my kick up the bum is to make sure I have all the things I need to at hand.
Unique Planners – A4 Life Planner
I’m a huge stationery fan so the prospect of something that was going to help organise my life was quite exciting. The A4 Life Planner from Unique Planners is quite simply unique. The planner is fully customisable from cover to cover.
With a wide selection of pre-installed cover templates to choose from you can opt for one of their cute or funky designs. Or why not upload your own photo or design to give your life planner that added edge. Personally, I fell in love with the cute bunting, partially as it matched some of my coloured BiC pens that I love to use for writing my blog posts.
Unique Planners – A4 Life Planner {Stickers}
Our love of stickers is instilled into us at an early age, however, there comes a point in our lives when it becomes socially unacceptable to be seen sporting a sticker or two on our jumpers. Unique Planners, however, have come to our rescue with a page full of helpful stickers included at the back of the life planner. From monthly tabs, coloured stars and name plates there is something to make your inner child squeal with delight.
Unique Planners – A4 Life Planner {Horizontal 2}
When designing your life planner you are able to select from two start dates, January and August. As well as three different layouts. I opted for the horizontal 2 layouts as this offered me different boxes for each day of the week which will enable me to keep track of different clients and my blog posts.
With the addition of the month sticker tabs from the sticker sheet (which includes a helpful guide on sticker placement) it allows me to find the correct date easily within my life planner.
Apart from the calendar plan pages the rest of the life planner pages are up to you. Whether you opt for note pages, to-do lists, expenses charts or contact lists there is a page for everyone and you have a large number to fill so you can customise until your heart’s content.
As I am using this to plan my freelance and blog work I opted to include to-do list pages (enough for one a week), monthly expenses charts to keep track of any travel expenses etc that I incur. I also managed to add a couple of pages for contacts as a quick reference guide (always useful as searching on my phone can be hit and miss).

Boo Roo and Tigger Too’s thoughts…
I’m a little way into the first month of using my Unique Planners A4 Life Planner and whilst I’m still getting used to noting things down in there. I do believe that this is going to be a good habit to form (especially when I come to completing my tax return in April).
The large boxes available on each day allow me to write little notes about the campaign I am working on or any research I need to complete before publishing etc. The colourful pages make the planner something interesting to complete rather than a boring diary that I have used in the past.
