We all like to get away from it all. The ability to pack up the car, and head off in search of a few days of relaxing, unwinding and taking it easy. But is it as simple as jumping in the car? Take a look at these 5 ways to unwind on a weekend away…
5 Ways to Unwind on a Weekend Away
Find your own space
One of the biggest causes of arguments, when families go away, is the lack of space. At home, you each have your own space to retreat into whenever you need some time alone, however, on holiday we tend to cram ourselves into small hotel rooms or pokie apartments. Why not take a look at large houses to rent to see whether you can get all the space you need for a great price, plus you could invite friends and family to stay too.
All-inclusive
A weekend away from it all is as much-needed for the adults as it is for the children. Nobody wants to be the one slaving over a hot stove preparing every meal, they could be a home doing that. Opting for a dining package with the place you are staying at or venturing out to the taste test the local cuisine will make everyone’s weekend that bit more relaxing.
Take it easy
Our daily lives seem to be stuck in the fast line. We are always jumping from one task to the next, with another one lined up for when that is completed too. Our bodies and our minds are not meant to work at such a rate for a long period of time so every once in a while we need to recharge our batteries and take it easy. Whether you are sitting by the water’s edge fishing, chilling out under an old tree reading a book or vegetating on the sofa binge-watching a series or two on Netflix.
Pamper time
We all could do with being a little kinder to our bodies, so why not book into a spa for some pamper time. Whether you’d love a massage, facial or pedicure, or simply want to make use of the swimming pool and saunas. Having the opportunity to nurture your body whilst you enjoy the surroundings is the perfect way to unwind for the mind, body, and soul.
Reconnect
Do you ever feel as though your family are like ships passing in the night? Between work, school and activities when was the last time you really sat down, chatted and had fun together? Reconnecting with family and friends can be a great way to revive friendships, love, and laughter.
So what are you waiting for? Book that weekend away now!
Disclosure: This is a collaborative post, but who doesn’t fancy unwinding on a weekend away
