Panda and the Sparrow Luxury Gift Set {Review}

October 23, 2015

As I approach becoming a third time mum I look back at the purchases that I have made for Roo and Tigger, the successes and the failures. One of the biggest learning curves I found when I had my children was getting the clothing right. From items that not only looked, felt and washed well to the tags that didn’t irritate baby’s neck or outfits that were a nightmare to get on and off. With both Roo and Tigger having sensitive skin I had to be careful about fabrics too as many of them would rub and cause a flare up.

With Piglet coming in the next few weeks I have been once again thinking about baby clothing and looking at organic bamboo items that will be soft against her skin and will stand up to the wash after wash that they will go through in the coming months. After some internet searching I came across Panda and the Sparrow:

We are Panda and the Sparrow a range of unique bamboo baby clothes. We offer you all of bamboo’s natural eco credentials as well as fun and functional design. Here at Panda and the Sparrow we LOVE bamboo – not only is it the fastest growing plant in the world it also produces fabric with incredible qualities that make it just perfect for that special little someone in your life.

Panda and the Sparrow Luxury Gift Set

We were recently sent over a luxury gift set from Panda and the Sparrow in anticipation of Piglet’s arrival in a few weeks time. The gift set arrived all beautiful wrapped in a black box with a hand-tied polka dot ribbon (always going to gain plus points for incorporating a spot of polka dot in to packaging). Opening the beautiful wrapped package I greeted with a selection of Panda and the Sparrow organic baby items.

  • Coral and Natural Hat
  • Coral Baby Grow

Panda and the Sparrow – Blanket

One of the things I learned from my other children is that you can never have enough blankets. Whether you are out and about in the pram and things turn a little chilly so you need to add another layer. Whether you have some play time on the floor and pop a blanket down to add that extra softness and cushioning or whether you are curled up on the sofa after feed time for an impromptu nap.

This pram sized blanket offers softness, snuggle-ability and warmth for baby (and you should you ‘borrow’ it for forty winks). The Panda and the Sparrow blanket is doubled sided with coloured and natural stripes on one side with a solid colour block on the reverse, complete with its little Panda and the Sparrow tag along one edge.

Panda and the Sparrow – Baby Grow

Taking the baby grow out of the box for the first time I immediately wanted to snuggle in against it, the soft feel of the fabric is so tactile and I’m thinking it will make me want to go in for one more cuddle when Piglet is wearing it.

The attention to detail on the Panda and the Sparrow baby grow is fabulous instead of those nasty neck tags they have printed all relevant size and care instructions straight on to the inside of the baby grow meaning that there is no irritation on baby’s skin. The poppers come down the front of the baby grow before veering off down one leg meaning it is easier to fasten (unless you have a really wriggly baby) as well as looking quite funky.

It also comes footless which at first might seem strange however I think that this a fabulous idea as many baby’s have longer legs than regular sleepsuits and you are faced with the option of going up to the next size to accommodate and it being huge on the rest of baby or snipping the feet off what could be a gorgeous sleepsuit – being footless means baby has room to grow and you can add a pair of socks when needed.

Panda and the Sparrow – Hat

I have a love/hate relationship when it comes to hats for babies. I totally understand the need for them (keeping the heat in etc), however when you see a random hat placed on baby’s head that does match what they are wearing I think it looks rather silly. The Panda and the Sparrow hat included within the gift set compliments the baby grow and matches the snuggly blanket too making baby look adorable when using all three items.

This beautiful luxury gift set is priced at £45.00 for the three items mentioned above which might sound a little expensive however once you feel the quality and softness of the items you would happily spend that little bit extra on the gift set.

Take a look at how fabulous Primrose looks in the set, I can’t wait to see what Piglet looks like when she is wearing this gorgeous gift set.

With a range of baby clothing and gifts set available from Panda and the Sparrow it might be difficult to decide upon which item to buy.
