With summer just about here, that means the nice weather is here (hopefully to stay) and it is a great time to get the kids outside for some fun. Many parents have found, with video games and electronics, that has gotten hard to get kids outside to play and off the devices. The best ways to get kids outside and active is to find fun ways to get them excited to be outside.
Walk in the Park
Kids love the park and playground. Even the most stubborn kids can get excited about that. But the park can be so much more than just the playground. Take the kids on a nature walk. Give the kids a reason to want to walk. Create a scavenger hunt or bring binoculars so the kids have things to look for.
Go Karting
Adults love being able to ride in go-carts, but what if there were go carts for kids that let kids get in on the fun. Kids as young as 3 can now have their own go-kart from Wicken Toys, and with that much fun waiting for them outside, no kid is going to want to play inside.
Riding Bikes and Scooters
Take the kids outside to let them ride bikes or scooter down the street. Kids can get a sense of freedom and adventure when they are riding a bike or scooter. It is something that they can do with their friends, by themselves, or you can all do together as a family.
Search for Shells
Take the kids to the beach and let them walk around and search for shells. There are many types of crafts that the kids can create with shells. The kids can add the shells they find into a vase or glass container. Kids can also glue the shells to a frame and make a fun keepsake.
Build the Best Sand Castle
Kids love playing in the sand, so try creating a sand castle contest. The great thing about this is, it doesn’t have to be a the beach. If you are visiting the beach, create, or if you have a sandbox in your yard, kids can have all the fun in their own back yard. The shells you have collected from the beach can be used to decorate the castles. If you don’t have shells on hand, stores often sell shells or you can order them online.
Get the kids outside and make this a summer they will never forget
