We’d all love an extra zero or two when we take a look at our bank balance. Can you imagine logging into your online banking to find an extra £100K sitting in there? What would you do if you that amount of money?
- Take a holiday?
- Pay off any debts?
- Buy a car?
I’m entering Jackpot 247’s £100K Dream – What Would You Do? Competition by sharing with you all just how I would spend £100K if I was fortunate to wake up one morning and find it sitting in my bank account.
It’s not lottery rich
It’s funny because I don’t think that I am the only person who has worked out what they would do if they won the lottery. From donating a proportion to charity, helping family and friends, a fabulous new house, car and of course a holiday or five. £100K isn’t quite lottery rich but it is still a lot of money, more money than I could ever dream of having. However, as much as I’d like to be sensible and pay off the mortgage, or have a good deposit on a new house I think I’m inclined to blow a good proportion of it.
The dream holiday
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to visit New York, especially at Christmas time. I long to see the huge Christmas tree outside the Rockefeller Center, go skating in Central Park and g shopping in Bloomingdale’s. I would love a hotel that looks out across the park so I can enjoy the view. The thing is I’m not sure I’d want to take the kiddies (does that make me a mean Mummy?), I’m actually saving them from watching me trawl through the shops and all the hustle and bustle of New York life.
Instead of coming along to New York I think Merlin Passes would provide Roo and Tigger more enjoyment. The opportunity to pop to Chessington World of Adventures, Legoland or take a spin on the London Eye would be much more appealing to them than shopping.
A two car family
Every morning I watch Mr. Boo get up that little bit too early, get ready and head out of the day before the rest of us are up so that he can catch a bus to work. He does this come rain or shine, and why? so that I can have the car for the school run, getting to work and completing all the various shopping, after school activities etc. So I’d love to splash out and get him a SEAT Leon, we had a car like this when our car was written off earlier this year and was surprised at just how comfortable and efficient it was.
I’m much more of aanMPV kinda Mum so I think the new Citroen Grand Picasso would be perfect – you see I want to be the cool Mum who drops all the kids off at parties and takes them out for days out too (sad I know).
A better standard of living
We’ve lived in our current home for 8 years and whilst it is a perfectly lovely house it is small, it isn’t near to Mr. Boo’s work and it doesn’t have a garden so a good chunk of the £100K would actually go towards a deposit for a new house. Might not be our forever home but would certainly be a step up from where we currently live.
If you won £100K – what would you do?
